The Palisades Fire, fueled by 60 mph winds, ignited on January 7, 2025, in Pacific Palisades and has since scorched over 1,260 acres, with no containment in sight. Due to the significant threat to surrounding communities, Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency.

In response to the fire, evacuation warnings have been issued for 19 additional areas, while mandatory evacuations have been enforced in 15 zones. For displaced residents, an evacuation center has been set up at the Westwood Recreation Center.

Several roads, including the Pacific Coast Highway, remain closed. Firefighters from CAL FIRE and local departments are working tirelessly to control the blaze. Actor Steve Guttenberg has joined the evacuation efforts, urging residents to clear roads for emergency vehicles when needed.
